The actual ballot question for the town voters is below:
Shall the Town of Adams/Cheshire be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and a one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for a borrowing to be issued by the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District Committee in order to construct, equip and furnish a renovation and addition to the Hoosac Valley High School?
YES
NO
If You Vote ‘YES’
- State-of-the-art academic facility to serve students for 7 of their 13 years in the district
- Many areas available for community use
- Attract new homeowners and increase property value
- A great opportunity to bring money back to the community…a $40 million construction project with many local trades involved in the construction
- A new school is an investment in our future
If You Vote ‘NO’
- The towns of Adams and Cheshire will lose the opportunity for state funding
- Project will be removed from state ‘pipeline’
- District buildings will remain overcrowded
- ACRSD will continue to maintain a 60 year old middle school and 40 year old high school in their current conditions, with taxpayers paying 100%
